Raised In Knoxville Project

Our very own Mic Harrison was asked to join the “Raised In Knoxville” Project and write a song!
More info from the Raised in Knoxville website

WUOT is one of 37 public radio and TV stations nationwide to share in more than $366,000 of funding to produce projects associated with acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns’s upcoming documentary Country Music. Eight years in the making, the eight-part, 16-hour documentary chronicles the highs and lows of country music’s early days, from southern Appalachia’s songs of struggle, heartbreak, and faith to the rollicking Western swing of Texas to California’s honky-tonks and Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry. Country Music will premiere Sunday, September 15, and will stream for free on various PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS Video app.

Two Knoxville artists— Mic Harrison, rhythm guitarist and lead singer in Mic Harrison and the High Score, and Trisha Gene Brady, a solo artist who spent seven years as a member of the Black Lillies—will each write and record a country song commissioned for the project. WUOT will chronicle the process online so people can watch the songs develop from early practice to the final mix. The songs will be available for free digital download, and 200 commemorative CD’s will be produced.

Uh oh, oh boy

Bad news. The Mic Harrison and The High Score van has driven its last mile.
R.I.P Ford Lounge.

Good news, we’ve got another ride lined up. We’re not asking you just to give us money to buy a new/old van. But if you want to support Mic Harrison and The High Score, right now is a great time to buy merch. We’ve come up with a shirt for just this occasion. Show the world that you helped Mic Harrison buy an old van! Then we can drive our new old van to the next show. Win/win.

You can pick one or two or four up via our bandcamp page

Big Ears! Paste Magazine! Lee Zimmerman!

Mic Harrison, Robbie Trosper, and Kevin Abernathy joined Wayne Bledsoe for the WDVX 6 O’Clock Swerve during The Big Ears festival in Knoxville. Our good buddy Lee Zimmerman wrote about it in his Six Favorite performances at the 2019 Big Ears Festival. article for Paste Magazine!

Speaking of Lee Zimmerman, he just wrote a book! Check it out. There might even be a quote in there by our very own Mic Harrison!
